The BC Transplant Research Foundation (BCTRF) is a charitable organization which supports organ transplant research with teaching hospitals, universities and industry leaders. Transplant research proposals are peer-reviewed through the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research and the National Kidney Foundation and are of the highest ethical standards. We provide start-up funds and matching funds to BC-based scientists with expertise in transplantation science.

By building a strong network of transplant researchers scientific advances can be translated into better patient care. This is referred to as "bench to bedside" practice. The Foundation strives to support research where the knowledge from the science lab can be translated or applied directly to patient in the hospital through new therapies and technologies.
