Education Development

A key component of BC Transplant's mandate is to support knowledge-development through research and teaching.

There are various transplant-related education opportunities throughout the year available to both BC Transplant staff and other health care professionals who want to learn more about organ donation and transplantation.

BCT Education Days

Every year, BC Transplant hosts an educational conference for healthcare professionals around the province who work in organ donation and transplantation.

BCT Education Days 2019: Journey from Donation to Transplant#BCTEDdays2019, will be held on September 16 and 17 at Vancouver General Hospital's Paetzold Health Education Centre. As part of BC Transplant's mandate to support knowledge program through research and teaching, our two-day conference will feature a program focused on organ donation (September 16) and transplant (September 17).

Our featured speakers this year include:

  • Dr. Sam Shemie (Medical Advisor for Canadian Blood Services)
  • Dr. Maureen Meade (Director, DONATE Research Program)
  • Jennifer Woolfsmith (Donor Mom)

The conference will bring together multidisciplinary organ donation and transplantation experts and offer patient and donor family perspectives – all wrapped in one event. Don't miss out and register now!
