Start the conversation in your school about organ donation

BC Transplant encourages students and teachers to introduce conversations about organ donation into their schools.  We believe that more lives can be saved when more people understand organ donation, what it means to register as an organ donor, and the lifesaving benefits of transplantation.

Green Shirt Day is an opportunity to generate class discussions on organ donation, inspire action from students, and participate in a meaningful cross-Canada initiative.

BC Transplant  has a Green Shirt Day toolkit with resources and information for school educators.

Print off or share this one-pager of organ donation awareness ideas for students. Please note the poster is legal (8.5" x 14") size.

We can help to organize BC Transplant staff, transplant recipients, living donors and donor family members to speak to your classroom about the importance of organ donation, answer questions, and dispel common myths and misconceptions.

If you would like to book a speaker for your school, please email info@bct.phsa.ca

We can send you a helpful campaign kit for your classroom including presentation notes, posters, fact sheets, pens and buttons. It's a great way to help your classmates understand organ donation.

Order your kit by emailing info@bct.phsa.ca. ‎

The BC Ministry of Education has developed a Grade 8 lesson plan on organ donation that can be adapted to other grades.
