Volunteer With Us

Our volunteer team includes organ recipients, donor family members and living donors.
The volunteer program

About our program

Throughout the year, BC Transplant attends community events, organ donor drives, races, walks, markets, schools and workplaces across the province to raise awareness and register organ donors.

We have many volunteer opportunities during the month of April - Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month, Transplant Heroes Week in May and Operation Popcorn in December.

We also have a strong Speaker Program through which transplant recipients, living donors and donor families share their stories to help raise awareness for organ donation.

Our volunteers lead their own initiatives to organize registration drives and raise awareness in their communities across the province. BC Transplant provides mini-Campaign Kits, ensuring volunteers have supplies and support to help make a successful event.

In light of COVID-19 this year, we will not be participating in any in-person community events.  We are using our online platforms to share stories and raise awareness about organ donation.

Program goals

Through our volunteer program, we aim to:

  • Increase the number of British Columbians who have registered their decision about organ donation
  • Create conversations, raise awareness, and support for organ donation and transplant across the province
